Lucylle Frances Agnew Gifford, 88, of Aurora died on June 9, 2014 in her home at the Cherry Creek Retirement Village from heart failure. Lucylle was born on September 14, 1925 in Kinsley, Kansas to Floyd and Ethel (Beebe) Agnew. She grew up living a semi-nomadic life helping her parents run a Carnival. She met her husband at her parents' cafe in Kinsley during the Carnival off season and they married a year later on December 1, 1946. She and her husband worked and traveled with the Carnival up until the birth of their second daughter. They moved to Wichita, Kansas and settled down to work a variety of odd jobs â even getting a beauticians license and running a salon out of the home. Once their adult daughters had relocated to Colorado they sold their house, bought a trailer and spent their time in between Mesa, Arizona and Thornton, Colorado. The nomadic spirit of the Carnival stayed with her always. Her passion was travel and throughout the course of her life she and Harry could be found in their trailer on the open road seeing the sights, visiting friends and making new ones on the way. They loved camping and were active members of camping clubs for as long as they were able. Lucylle was scared of no one and was a friend to everyone. She was a source of comfort and love for not only their daughters but a variety of other people that passed through their home. She made friends effortlessly and loved nothing more than to coo at and hold babies. She was stubborn and bold and greatly admired for it. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harry; her brother and his spouse: Elwood & Suzy Agnew; three daughters: Haranna, Marchel & Rita; four grandchildren: Tarina, Tarren, Trent & Tracey; and three great-grandchildren; as well as a wide variety of nephews, nieces and friends from all corners. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 1:00 in the afternoon at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., in Aurora. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow services at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Shelter A at 3:00 in the afternoon. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Families First, 2163 S.
