Luis ""Louie"" Fransua

July 13, 1924 — December 9, 2013

Luis Fransua, 89, of Denver, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 in Denver, CO. Louie was born in Starkville, CO to Reuben and Esther; brother to Reuben M. Arthur, Alice and Daniel. He worked in the Conservation Core, before joining the Navy in 1943, and served his duty on the USS Tappahannock in the South Pacific as the ship's barber, after the War ended he came to Denver to practice Barbering with his father Reuben and soon opened Louie's Barber Shop in what is now considered Lo Do, and in the early sixties opened Mapleton Barbers on 58th Ave., he retired in 2003 at 80 years old and 57 years of Barbering. He enjoyed family, fishing, and football and will be greatly missed by his very loving family. Survived by 6 children, John (Phyllis) Fransua, Sylvia (Charles) Fransua, Sandra (Don) Fransua-Archuleta, Susan Fransua-Herrera, Jack Fransua, and Stephanie (Scott) Fransua-Mishoe; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Consuelo and son Louis T. Fransua. Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Friday, December 13, at Church of the Risen Christ Catholic Church in Denver.
