Luis Martinez

Luis Hunter Martinez, age 34, died on January 4, 2022. He was born in Missouri and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a graduate of Nolan Catholic High School. In 2006, he moved to Denver to attend the University of Denver. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Sociology at the University of Denver. After college, Hunter earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Denver to become an attorney in Denver. He was employed by Tyson, Gurney & Hovey LLC as an oil and gas, property attorney.

Hunter loved hockey and has played hockey since a young age. He was an Avid Avalanche fan and enjoyed watching hockey and playing hockey.  He played on many different hockey teams as well as at outdoor tournaments but what he loved most was the friends he made through the sport. Along with hockey, Hunter loved to watch soccer, specifically Manchester United, as well as football. Go Cowboys! He was a huge animal lover, loved to read, hike, play video games, and spend time with his friends and family, specifically his daughter.

Hunter is survived by his wife, Jessica, and daughter, Harper, of Parker Colorado.  Additionally, He is survived by his mother and father, MJ and Luis Martinez, of Bailey, Colorado.  He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Nick, Jared, Ryan and Jason Vallner as well as his in-laws Deb and Joe Vallner.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home  at 5303 E. County Line Rd, Centennial, on Friday January 21st at 3:00 pm.  A dinner will be served immediately afterwards in the reception area.  In lieu of flowers, cards or food, the family is asking for consideration of a contribution to Harper’s college fund through Ugift529.com utilizing code V5Z-H23.  Instructions are on the site.
