On Saturday April 10, 2021, Luke began a new journey with the Lord. Luke was born to Jessie C Flanagan (Stewart) and Timothy S Flanagan at St. Joseph’s hospital in Denver, Colorado on January 15, 1992. He spent his childhood in the Denver area, and graduated from Cherry Creek HS. He continued his athletics and education at Garden City CC in KS then St. Ambrose University in IA, graduating Cumme Laude. After college, Luke played baseball professionally in Watertown, NY as part of the East Coast Independent league. Following his baseball career, he returned home to the Denver area where he worked for Ludvik Electric as a project manager.
Luke was well known for his athletic accomplishments, his passion for the outdoors, his infectious smile, and the love he shared with his friends and family. A natural leader and an exceptional teammate, people gravitated towards Luke both on the field and off. He made everyone feel accepted. Specifically, Luke had a softness in his heart for those less fortunate or with special needs, countless actions demonstrated his impact.
Luke was passionate about music, he often wrote songs and played guitar as well as several other instruments. He especially enjoyed live music, and attending open mic nights at local venues. A great sense of humor, he even tried his hand at stand up comedy.
Luke was an extremely loyal friend, son, brother, and uncle. The third of four children, he is survived by his parents Tim and Jessie, an older sister, Valerie (Hunter), an older brother Christopher (Morghan), a younger sister Rebecca, his niece Aubree, and two nephews Corbin and Owen; All are still close to Denver and gather often. Luke also loved the family dogs and spending time with his animal buddies.
A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23, 10:30 AM at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Littleton, CO. There will be a live stream available for anyone not attending. Details of this event will become available shortly.
In Luke’s honor, a foundation is being established that will allow Luke to continue giving, and sharing his love with special needs children.
In lieu of gifts/flowers, there will be an option to donate to Luke’s foundation as it becomes established.
