Luzella Rose Schwartz

Luzella Rose Schwartz (Stewart) age 81 died peacefully at home on January 12, 2020 with her loving family surrounding her.

Born on October 25, 1938 to Myron and Helen Stewart, she was the oldest of seven children. She grew up in many places being that her father was in the military. She worked at her Aunt Velma's cafe as a teen. At the age of 19 she got engaged to Eugene and waited 18 months for him to return from Korea after he was drafted. The two moved to Colorado and she worked as a switchboard operator, then at a construction company.

After adopting their first child Desiree, they received a huge surprise three years later with the arrival of their second child Danielle, as they were told they weren't able to have children. As ""The Mother"" to many, her most important role was not just raising her girls, but being there for many of their friends. During the empty nest years Luzella went back to work taking care of children with the MOPS program through several churches, as she loved children very much. She did this for 28 years.

On February 28, 2020 Eugene and Luzella would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, so we're going to go ahead and still count it as 60 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband Eugene D. Schwartz, daughters Desiree (Kenny) Carpenter, Danielle (Tim) Woodward; grandchildren Joshua (Missy) Schwartz, Jay (Amy) Carpenter, and Jacqui and Alliyah Woodward and great grandchildren Zeke and Eli Schwartz. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry Max and her grandson Zachary Chayse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Amazing Grace Church 3325 South Federal Blvd., Englewood, Colorado.
