Lydia Elizabeth Bonnette

November 7, 1936 — September 26, 2019

Lydia Elizabeth (Hilt) Bonnette was born November 7, 1936 to Emil and Lydia Hilt of St. Francis, Kansas. Growing up Lydia worked the family farm with her parents and 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Lydia learned many skills during her time on the farm which included sewing, cooking, baking and canning, just to name a few. Once Lydia graduated high school she aspired to give life beyond the farm a try. She moved to Denver, Colorado and attended Barnes Business College. Upon completion of school, Lydia joined the workforce and worked as a secretary for a small construction company. This is where she met the love of her life and soul mate, Marshall Bonnette. Lydia and Marshall hit it off right away. They were married on May 1, 1960 in St. Francis, Kansas. Lydia and Marshall settled in Denver and began their married life together. Lydia and Marshall raised three wonderful children, Mitchell, Janet and Kristal. The family loved spending time together in the great outdoors camping and fishing whenever they would get the chance. Lydia began working for the Bureau of Land Management as a data entry technician in 1972 and retired in 1997.

Through the years, Lydia was involved in various activities with her church. She enjoyed attending Bible study and working with other women's ministry leagues. Lydia was most excited to see her children grow up, get married and have children of their own.

At the age of 82, Lydia was called home on Thursday, September 26, 2019. She is survived by her sister, Martha Sletto of Arvada, Colorado. Son, Mitchell and Vickey Bonnette of Midland, Georgia, and their children, Andy and Aimee Torres (great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah and Alyssa), Jimmy and Rachel Norman (great-grandchild, James), Katie, Emily and Brittany.
