Lydia Noonan

Lydia Noonan, 92, formerly of Ft. Collins, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Coeur d’Alene , Idaho. She was born November 22, 1918 near Goodwin, North Dakota of German emigrant parents Frederick & Magdalene Schuler, the 8th of eleven children. She left school after graduating from 8th grade to help on the family farm.

Lydia married James Vaughan Noonan in 1951 in Minot, North Dakota before moving to Leeds, North Dakota to start a family. In 1962 they moved with their six children to Ft. Collins, Colorado. While raising her children she also worked at the King Sooper’s Bakery 18 years, before retiring at age 70. Then she spent many wonderful years attending all the sports and other events of her 9 grandchildren. In 2003 she moved to the Hover Community retirement center in Longmont, Colorado, where she made many more friends and continued to see her grandchildren, before moving to Idaho to live with her daughter in 2010.

She is survived by her children Kathleen Mandeville of Denver, Colorado, Cynthia Lehigh of Sterling, Virginia, Denise Noonan of Dothan, Alabama, Gery Noonan of Parker, Colorado, Jim Noonan of Broomfield, Colorado, Gail Prockish of Hauser, Idaho and 9 grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Bertha Bauer of Lodi, California and Sophia Beckman of Jamestown, North Dakota.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado, with a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens near Ft. Collins at 2:30 pm.
