Lydia Mae Williamson

November 27, 2011 — May 4, 2018

Lydia Mae Williamson, our little “Lydibug,” winged her way into our hearts when she was born on November 27, 2011, in Englewood, Colorado. She arrived with a sweep of dark hair and a charm she refined during her six short years. She passed into Heaven on May 4, 2018 from a sudden, unexplained illness. Besides performing locally as a ballerina, Lydia delighted in reading, crafting, writing, and “publishing” books. As a kindergartener at Traylor Academy in Denver, she proudly received the ""Roar of Excellence"" award for her exceptional character and loving leadership. She created and taught lessons about numbers, colors, and syllables for any adult or child who passed through her living room. She was an enthusiastic Sparkie in Orchard Bible Church’s Awana program for children. Lydia was named after the first person in Europe to open her heart and her home to the good news about Jesus. Even though she was young, she followed in this ancient woman’s footsteps. For her sixth birthday party, she created, and shared with her friends, a gallery of Bible scenes to share the story of Jesus life, death and resurrection. Lydia is mourned by her father and mother, Jedidiah and Chelsea Williamson, Denver, Colorado; four-year-old sister Magdalene; grandparents Melvin and Lesha Williamson, Trinidad, Colorado, and Duane and Trish Hermanson, Lakewood, Colorado; five aunts and five uncles; twenty cousins, and a multitude of friends. Acts 16:14-15 “One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. ‘If you consider me a believer in the Lord,’ she said, ‘come and stay at my house.’ And she persuaded us.”
