Lyle Francis Klataske

Lyle Francis Klataske. Born September 30, 1940 ïéé½ Died September 15, 2011. Lyle was born in Odell, NE to Charles Klataske and Lillian Wollenberg. He was brother to Norman Klataske. Lyle was raised in Odell and graduated from Odell High School in 1958. Following high school, Lyle served in the U.S. Army for four years and was stationed both in the U.S. and abroad. Lyle attended Fairbury College in Nebraska for two years before transferring to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. While in Lincoln, he met and married Susan (Graves) Klataske, with whom he raised a family. In the 1960's Lyle moved to Denver where he worked as a hydroelectric engineer for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for 30 years. His engineering career was notable for including cutting edge generator design improvements as well as providing consulting internationally for hydro-electric power projects. Following his career with the Bureau, he was able to fulfill a life-long dream of working at a golf course when he became an employee at Fox Hollow Golf Course. Lyle took pride in the fact the he rode his bike to work daily, except in extreme weather. He was committed to living a life of simplicity and respect for the environment. Lyle was a devoted father who gained great enjoyment in bringing new experiences to his family. Each year included family vacations, time at sporting and dancing events and even family bike rides through all parts of Denver. Lyle worked as an employee of Winter Park selling lift tickets on the ski train for over fifteen years. The family skied together every weekend for all of those years. Throughout his life Lyle also loved to spend time cultivating his garden and golfing. Lyle loved the outdoors, the mountains, animals and nature. He also spent a lot of his time helping and supporting friends in need. Recently, Lyle shared a friendship with Debbie Rodriguez who was a close companion and joined him in many of the things he loved to do. Lyle is survived by his former wife Susan Krepel; his daughter Merry Davis and her husband Rick Davis; his daughter Joanie Klataske and her fiancïéé½ David Bock; his son David Klataske and his wife Cindy and their four children Tyler, Tabitha, Kyle and Chloe Klataske; his sister in law Lu Klataske; and his nephew Daryl Klataske and his wife Rose and their son Jacob. Lyle was a loving and generous man with a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.
