Lynda Kay Duke passed away peacefully Friday, January 28, 2022.
She was born in Evansville, Indiana February 20, 1948 and moved to Denver as a young child in 1952.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred (McCaleb) Duke, her father, Vernon K. Duke and her most cherished son Jason Matthew Melfi.
She was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School Class of 1966 and married Ralph Melfi in 1968.
Lynda’s son Jason was an exceptional baseball player at Cherry Creek High School and in college at the University of Oklahoma. She loved watching him play from Little League through college. She loved her friends and family most dearly.
She spent her career working in sales and marketing, finally retiring after working in Property Management. No matter where she was employed, Lynda made life-long friends of her co-workers. She was an advocate of the environment and all things in nature.
Lynda is survived by her brother Gary (Patsy) Duke and sister Deborah (Michael Hecht) Duke. Nieces Lisa (Duke) (Scott) Carlson, Allyson (Hecht) (Landon) Tenhegan and Addison Hecht. Great-nieces Corinne (Carlson) (Darren) McAffee, Abby Carlson, Delaney Duke Carlson and Teagan Carlson.
Friends and family wishing to celebrate her life are invited to the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022. There will be a lunch reception following the service. Her interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
