Lynn M Debruin, 51, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Denver, Colorado. Lynn was employed by the Associated Press as a sports writer based in Salt Lake City since 2010. She formerly was a sports writer covering the NFL and other sports for The Rocky Mountain News in Denver, where she previously resided. Before that she worked for the Mesa Tribune in Mesa, Arizona, covering sports and news. Lynn also covered golf and many other sports as a free lance writer prior to joining the Associated Press. She was an avid photographer, traveler and golfer. She earned her BA Degree in journalism in 1984 from the University of Arizona in Tucson, after which she began her writing career at the Casa Grande Dispatch in Casa Grande, AZ. She was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to Stephen and Mary Luther on August 4, 1962 and grew up near Center Valley, PA. She is survived by her mother, Mary Luther of Allentown, PA, sister Linda Luther-Veno of Allentown, PA, and brother Stephen L. Luther of Center Valley, PA. Memorial services will be held in Denver, Colorado at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11th, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO, 80246, and also in Pennsylvania at a date, time and location to be announced. Donations in Lynn's memory may be made to the breast cancer charity of your choice.
