Lynn M. Scutellaro

October 29, 1978 — July 7, 2007

Lynn was born in Helene Fuld Hospital in Trenton, NJ early on a Sunday morning. She was the first child of Adele and Ed Scutellaro, who lived in Mercerville, NJ for about 13 years during which time her brother Richie was born on December 16, 1980. The family later moved to Lawrenceville, NJ just a short distance away. Lynn became involved in various sports, both recreationally and JV /Varsity.These included soccer, field hockey and softball, which was her best group sport ; she played first base, pitcher and clean up batter. The family went to Sugarloaf Maine for a ski vacation with a number of friends from Delaware when Lynn was 3 years old She started taking lessons that first year and was soon skiing through the trees. She has been skiing almost every year since that time. After graduating from Lawrence High School, Lynn came out to the University of Colorado for college, and tried a new sport here '"" crew. Subsequently, she tried rock climbing and scuba diving. Lynn loved to travel. Whenever she had to travel for the National Guard or on other personal business, she would find a way to add a trip to an area she had never been, and, of course, the big green LL Bean duffle bag went with her. She even tried bungee jumping in New Zealand. She enjoyed new adventures, especially outdoor activities. Besides skiing, Lynn enjoyed, snowshoeing, hiking, camping, cycling and cooking. While in college, Lynn became a member of ROTC and participated in a program in parallel with the Colorado National Guard, into which she was commissioned as a 2LT upon graduation. Then it was off to flight school at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, where she trained on the UH-1 Huey. Soon after, Lynn went to Indiantown Gap, PA for training on the UH-60 Black Hawk. After her military training, Lynn returned to Colorado full time. She worked at the Juvenile Center in Boulder and various other jobs. When a full time position came up with the Guard she worked for them until activated for duty in Iraq. Her unit served with the 101st Airborne until last November when she came to live in Evergreen while she found a house to buy.
