Lynn Tucker was born in California when his parents left Hawaii for a job opportunity for his dad. His dad was stationed in Hawaii after World War II where he met his precious Tamiko. They married and had a son, John and moved to California where Lynn was born. Lynn’s family moved to Colorado when he was 10 and, at age 13, he learned how to play bass and sing. He graduated a year and a half early and became a working musician when he was 18 where he attended Loretta Heights College studying Music Theory. While he was in school, he worked as a bladder technician at Craig Hospital, where he met Bobby Allison. Lynn’s professional music career lasted over 52 years. Earlier in his career, he had hired an unknown singer new to Colorado named Lannie Garret to sing in his band and she later went on to become a local celebrity. He played in the Bobby Allison Band for many years until he started working with Debbie Lease in Counterpoint. He then joined Bill Francoeur in the Borderland Band (weddings, barmitzvahs, etc.) and played with Bill Francoeur for about 45 years. Many of the players in the Borderland Band formed the Kahuna Beach Party doing Beach Boys Music for audiences as large as 30,000 people. The bands he was in opened for some of the greats...Merle Haggard (country legend)...Peter Noone (Herman’s Hermits)...Gary Morris (Country Artist of the Year 3 Years in a row and star of Le Miserables) and many others. He retired from the music business about 10 years ago when his health was in the way of touring.
He met his wife, the bar manager, Rev. S. Tucker, in 1980 while playing in the house band, The Bobby Allison Band at Mr. Lucky’s and the two were wed in 1982 while he was playing with Counterpoint. Their first honeymoon was in Glenwood Springs, but in 1984 they attended a family reunion in Hawaii and went on a cruise for their official honeymoon. They had a beautiful friendship, companionship and marriage for over 43 years. In 1999, Lynn became a Minister of Religious Science. He has been the Associate Minister at the Oasis Center for Spiritual Living as the Music Minister since 1999. He was ordained in 2007. As a metaphysican, he had a passion for being a Biblical Scholar and taught people how to see the Bible in the context of history and culture.
