Mae Jeanette (Jordan) Smith was born on October 29, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa to Marvel Almeda and Clyde Leslie Jordan. The family moved to Beloit, WI when Mae was one year old. Two brothers were born into the family. Lyle survives and Daniel is now deceased. Her family moved to Littleton, CO in 1947. Mae worked as a stenographer for Arapahoe County welfare and two other companies. She retired after 19 years as office manager for The Conservative Baptist district office in Denver. Mae accepted Jesus Christ as a sophomore in high school and became active with youth, young adults and music. Her Christian beliefs were a stronghold throughout her life. Being active in church led to Mission Hills Baptist Church in Littleton, where she met a young man, Phil Smith. Sponsoring a youth group at church together, with Phil as song leader and Mae as pianist, more than friendship was sparked. Phil and Mae were married August 23, 1957. Mae is remembered and loved by many. Her loving and caring, gentle ways, were a mark of her character and love for the Lord.
