Magdaline Elizabeth Handley

Magdaline (Madeline) Elizabeth Handley, 95 was the daughter of Mathews and Edna Kolbel. She was born May 21, 1918 in Canton Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband Loy Handley, William J. Doyle (the father of her two children), her daughter Mary K. Doyle and her sister Margaret Ann Kolbel. She is survived by her son, William (Billy) Doyle of Wesminster CO, her step daughters Pamela (George) Johnson of Lakewood, CO, Janice (Bill) Brady of Chandler, AZ and a step son Gary Handley of Aurora, CO. She had 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and many loving family members and friends. Magdaline was with her Spring Ridge Park family in Wheat Ridge when she passed on May 25, 2013 four days past her 95th birthday. Magdaline graduated from North High School in Denver Colorado. As a young woman, she worked at the May Co. from 1937-42 and F.W. Woolworth Co. from 1942-53. After the birth of her two children, she became a homemaker and a full time caregiver for her very ill daughter, Mary. Magdaline (Madge as Loy would call her) met her husband Loy through a mutual friend. After their marriage, they began taking square dancing lessons and bowling on a league. This was a passion for both of them. They would frequent the Lyons Club on Wednesdays for breakfast every week. Loy came from a very large family and whenever anyone came to visit, they both would open their hearts and their home to welcome them.
