Marc James Budke, U.S. Secret Service Senior Special Agent, passed away on September 26, 2021, at the age of 51. He was a beloved husband, father, son, and brother. Marc was highly respected as a man of faith, a leader and mentor.
Marc followed in his father’s footsteps and became a second-generation Special Agent. He served our country for over 22 years, beginning his career in 1999 in the Washington Field Office. Between 2005 and 2008, Marc proudly served as a member of the Counter Assault Team, followed by his assignment to the Presidential Protection Division until 2011. He then transferred to the Denver Field Office, where he served until his passing.
Marc enjoyed a career that few have the privilege to experience, and he served with integrity. He enjoyed skiing, mountain biking, elk hunting and camping when he wasn’t travelling, but his greatest joy was his family.
Marc is survived by his wife of 29 years, Heather, their son, Tyler (Haylee), and their daughter, Sydney. He is also survived by his parents, Wes and Diane Budke and sister, Dana (Todd) Gilbert.
