Marcia Ovitt Jacques of Louisville, CO died on February 22 after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her son Christopher and his wife Eliza, her son Austin and his fiancée Laura, her siblings Irene Werner, Peter Ovitt, Karen Seaman, Leda Johnson and Timothy Ovitt, as well as her grandsons Simon and Benton Jacques. She is predeceased by her husband Alan Jacques and her sister Mary Alberti.
Marcia was born July 9th, 1954 in Glens Falls, New York to Ned and Theresa Ovitt, and raised in Indian Lake, New York, where she graduated from Indian Lake Central School. Marcia received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado and a Master’s Degree as a Library Media Specialist.
Marcia taught in the Boulder Valley School District for over 30 years, first as a social studies teacher at Angevine Middle School in Lafayette and later as a librarian and media specialist at Kohl Elementary in Broomfield.
Marcia was an avid reader, skier, traveler, crossword solver and bridge player. She loved to go on walks around Louisville and to dote on her grandsons. Her friends and family will dearly miss the love and friendship of a dynamic and loyal woman.
Celebration of Marcia's Life will be held Sunday, February 27,2022, 1:30pm, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marcia’s name to the Louisville Public Library Foundation.
