Marcus James Uribe

January 17, 1989 — June 9, 2020

Marcus James Uribe was a warrior, his name even meant warrior and he is known as hero to many. He passed at age 31 in Englewood, CO on June 9, 2020. Marcus served honorably as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps including a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps medal which is the highest non-combat award received for heroism above and beyond the call of duty for putting himself in harm's way in saving the life of a teenager. He also received the American Red Cross Military Lifesaver Award for his heroic actions.

Marcus was devoted to his family and community. He found joy in coaching football and baseball but had a passion for umpiring. As a youth he started out as a champion winning the Carnation Bowl in his first year of football. He finished his high school athletics with a 5A state championship in football. He got to see his Kansas City Chiefs finally win a super bowl after many years of screaming at the TV. Fortunately, all was not lost on his choice of professional teams. He loved the Colorado Rockies and above all he was an avid season ticket holder to the Avalanche.

He entered the world on January 17, 1989 in Wheatridge CO. Marcus was loved by his family. His parents are Jeff and Katie Uribe of Littleton, CO. Marcus grew up with two younger brothers: Mike Uribe married to Aislynn with children Brooke, Cassia and Dexter; and youngest brother Nick Uribe, who all reside in the Denver Metro Area. The Late Grandpa Bear, Grandma Ruby, Grandma Patty, Grandpa Frank, and Grandma Laura have had the pleasure of watching their family tree grow.

Marcus is survived by his pride and joy and jewel of his crown, his daughter Ella.

His legacy of love shines through and is reflected by the multitude of cousins, aunts, and uncles as well as all of the people's lives whom he has touched.
