Marcy Stone

Marcy M. Stone, age 85, passed away in God’s loving arms on Saturday, January 7th, 2023. Born July 12, 1937, in Millerville, Minnesota, to Louie Brozek and Minnie Flink. She spent her early years in Brandon, Minnesota, only to begin her 1st caregiving job at age 15 with the Nelson’s who accepted her as family in Alexandria, Minnesota. It was here that she married her High School sweetheart & began a family while attending Nursing school. They later moved to Virginia, before settling in Denver, Colorado. Marcy was a hard-working, determined woman from the time she was a child. She had a successful career as a cardiology nurse and never stopped taking care of people in need and those she loved until the day she passed. Marcy loved the Lord and was a servant to her church and community, volunteering her time and special gifts with her involvement in the Salvation Army and other charitable organizations. While she wore out multiple treadmills, she never ran out of energy for life. She worked out religiously, enjoying her exercise groups and hundreds of miles walked in nature. She stayed busy all year long, working in her beautiful garden during the summer and alternating between reading books and puzzles in the winter. Marcy loved music and the arts and was a fantastic quilter, baker, canner and cook, with a special affinity for angels, pigs and Schnauzers. All these things in life brought Marcy much joy, but what she loved most of all, was her family, friends, neighbors and the Lord. She loved broadly and she loved deeply.

Marcy is survived by her children, Scott Hogy, Kathy Walker and Bruce Hogy, and their families, including 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as her step-daughter, Julie Numaster. Marcy touched the souls and lives of all around her and she will be deeply missed. Family, friends, and others are welcomed to the Celebration of her Life at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 23rd, 2023, at Horan & McConaty, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80014. We will celebrate her wonderful life and all she has shared with this world.
