Margaret ""Polly"" Angelo, age 86, Lakewood, CO., passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2016. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold ""Hap"" Angelo, son Paul Angelo and sister, Priscilla Johnson. Polly is survived by her daughters, Beth Brown and husband Gary of Laramie, WY.; Meg Kendal and husband John of Conifer, CO.; Molli Gartland and husband Jim of Abilene, KS.; and Jane Angelo of Lakewood, CO.; grandchildren Tammy Love of Greeley, CO.; Drew Love (Angie) of Cheyenne, WY.; Ashleigh Kendal (Tyson Nelson) of Durango, CO.; Taylor Kendal (Allison Alter) of Denver, CO; Dane Angelo of Denver, CO.; Jordan Gartland of Denver, CO.; Eddie Gartland of Kansas City, MO.; and Maggie Angelo of Lakewood, CO.; great grandchildren; Evan Malone and Naomi Love of Cheyenne, WY. Polly was born in Ann Arbor, MI. to James and Viola Hodges. She remained in Ann Arbor and attended college at the University of Michigan majoring in history. There she met her future husband, Hap Angelo. She remained an avid fan (to put it mildly) of the university's football team, the Wolverines, her entire life. She taught elementary school in San Diego prior to marrying and starting her family. They had five children together. She was widowed in 1969 and did not remarry. Polly was a devoted wife, mother grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She had a great zest for life and love of God. Polly was involved in numerous organizations, volunteered her time, and had many interests including Great Books, bridge clubs, camping, cooking and yoga. What gave her the most joy in her life was spending time with her family. She rarely missed her grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals, acting performances or school functions. Her daughter Jane and granddaughter Maggie lived with her for the past two decades and they, along with her other children and grandchildren, provided her great companionship and made it possible for her to stay involved in all the activities she loved including traveling, concerts and theater. She especially enjoyed watching Maggie's theatrical performances. Polly touched many hearts, lived a full life, and will be missed by all.
