Margaret Ward Austin, age 89, passed away December 20, 2022. She was born August 24, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Inger Adelaide Rowley Ward and Phillip Amos Ward. She was a business owner and worked for the United States Postal Service in Montana and retired to Centennial, Colorado.
She loved her family and will be greatly missed! She enjoyed gardening, reading, and decorating. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Austin, whom she had been married to for over 60 wonderful years; and by two daughters, Vivian Schmidt, and Patty Austin; two siblings, Phillip Ward Jr, and Ann Miles; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Mike) Bear; LeeAnn (Kent) Squires; Carol Thorn (Brian Burgoyne); Marianne Austin; Allison (Marcus) Rose; two siblings, Shirley Mahoney, and Carol Maxwell; 18 grandchildren, and multiple great-grandchildren.
A Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5175 South Picadilly Street, Centennial, CO., on Thursday, December 29, 2022, 11:00am. Burial alongside her husband will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO.
