She was employed by a dentist, and then went on to work at the Remington Arms plant as part of the war effort. She then answered the nation's call to serve in World War II by enlisting in the U.S. Navy. She completed basic training at the U.S. Naval Training School in the Bronx, NY, on to Yeoman training in Cedar Falls, IA and was then stationed at the U.S. Naval receiving and distribution center in Shoemaker, CA. She re-entered the work force full-time in 1970 as a bookkeeper for Wilmore Nurseries. Bob and Marge spent the 1970's working hard to see their children finish high school and attend college. The 1980's ushered in the birth of all five of their grandchildren and well-deserved retirement. Throughout the late 1980's and 90's, Bob and Marge were able to travel to various parts of the world from Australia to Hawaii to Europe and throughout the United States. In 2002, Marge and Bob celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. On February 1, 2003 Bob passed away from complications due to emphysema.
