Margaret Mary Holter

Margaret (Maggie) Mary Holter (nee Moran), age 85 of Denver, CO passed away peacefully on May 12, 2020.

Maggie was born in Milwaukee, WI to Helen and Thomas Moran on December 6, 1934; she most recently lived in Denver, CO near her daughter, Monica Gillman. Maggie lived in West Allis, WI; Big Bend, WI; Brookfield, WI; Bradenton FL; and Cincinnati, OH prior to moving to Denver, CO. In her life, Maggie was active in the League of Women Voters. She advocated for books and literature. As a librarian she started The Big Bend Library. Maggie enjoyed traveling with her husband Warren Holter to Ireland, Israel, England, Scotland, and Norway. Maggie is fondly remembered for her artistic, fearless, and adventuresome nature.

Maggie is survived by her daughter Monica (Mitch) Gillman, grandchildren Joel (Lindsey Testolin) Gillman and Lauren (Camila Gadotti) Gillman, great grandchild Sofia Gillman Gadotti, brother Timothy (Liz) Moran as well as nieces, nephews and a host of other friends. Maggie is preceded in death by her loving husband Warren G. Holter, two siblings Thomas Moran and Monica Lukas (nee Moran), son Christopher E. Shaft and first Husband Robert E. Shaft (father of Monica Gillman (nee Shaft)) and Christopher E. Shaft.

During this time of the Covid19 pandemic the memorial service will be set at a further date when it is safe for people to gather. Memorial donations are welcome at Doctors Without Borders (https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org).
