"" --George and Ira Gershwin Margot Jackson departed this life on July 26. Her many friends and family can take comfort in that she is now reunited with her husband, Charles, and so many other loved ones. They can also take comfort and delight in the many wonderful memories they have of her. She loved musicals, theater, mysteries, games, puzzles, animals, cooking, baking, coin and stamp collecting, shopping, telling stories, laughter and sharing every possible minute that she could with her family. She was born in La Junta, Colorado, the daughter of Percival Emil Meyer and Helen Josephine Maes. She attended Manual High School in Denver and worked as a telephone operator and at the U.S. Customs House. She was married to Charles Neal Jackson in 1951 until his passing in 1994. From the early 1970s until the early 1990s she and her husband operated their own business, C and M Plastics. Margot lives on. She lives on in the memories of her siblings, Mary Louise Alanis, Marilyn Aragon and Norman Meyer (and his wife Barbara) and their families; in the memories of her children Kris Hostettler (and her husband Park), Douglas Jackson, and Leslie New (and her husband Don); in the memories of her grandchildren, Clint Hostettler (and his wife Barbara), Caleb Hostettler, Sara Herrick (and her husband Mick Longley, Isaac Hostettler, Christophe Jackson, Marieke Jackson, Michaela New, Conner New and Tavia New; and in the memories of her great-grandchildren Kohl, Gaije, Blayke, Taylor, Kailey, Corbin, Jesse and Sage. Her lifetime of love and laughter will be celebrated at a memorial service and reception at Horan and McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth in Lakewood on Thursday, August 1 at noon. Memorials in her name can be made to the Denver Zoo or the Denver Museum of Natural History. Please share memories of Margot and condolences with her family by signing the online guestbook below.
