Daughter of John Edward Hackett of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia (deceased) and Mary Thompson Gormon Hackett of Standish, Maine (deceased). Sister of Aloysia Gorman, John Hackett, James Hackett, and Catherine Hackett (all deceased), and son Anthony Derry (deceased). Survived by grandchildren Colleen Dominguez and Sean Derry, great grandchildren Amanda Dominguez, Christopher Dominguez, and Caitlyn Dominguez, and great-great grandchild Blakeley Dominguez. Margaret was also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Margaret was born on September 28, 1917 next door to St. Mary's Church in Standish, Maine. A lifelong Catholic, Margaret rarely missed a Mass in her century of life. She moved to North Denver as a child, and spent all her remaining years there in her family home. A feminist before her time, Margaret juggled motherhood along with a successful career at Safeway for over 40 years. She put her earnings and energy toward caring for family, friends, and anyone who needed a helping hand, including many loved ones who Margaret faithfully nursed to their deaths. A dedicated Broncos' fan, Margaret's passion for football kept her young and feisty. Indeed, Margaret could be found roller skating with her great grandchildren in her 70s, chasing after her hyper Jack Russell terrier (""Katy""), and driving the streets of Denver until the age of 94. Margaret was a simple person whose secrets to a long and happy life included black coffee, donuts, a daily vodka and grapefruit juice cocktail, waffles with blackberry syrup, an occasional very rare steak, and Camel unfiltered cigarettes, and love, lots of unconditional love.
