Bobbie was born in Lexington, Kentucky on August 26, 1921, the only child of Alice Burt and Charles Kendall McDowell and died on May 25, 2012 in Greenwood Village, CO. She is preceded in death by her husband, Baylor Van Meter, Jr., and her daughter, Alice O'Rourke. Bobbie is survived by two daughters, Lolly White of Folsom, Louisiana, and Margaret Murray of Centennial, Colorado, and two granddaughters, Allison and Melissa Murray. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Shortly after their marriage, Bobbie and Baylor moved to Midland, Texas where they raised their family and made many lifelong friends. In 1974, they moved to Denver, Colorado. Throughout her life Bobbie enjoyed golfing, fly fishing, traveling and most of all, spending time with her family. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on June 2, 2012, at the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bobbie's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado or the Denver Dumb Friends League.
