Margaret Milek

May 17, 1927 — December 29, 2009

Margaret Mary Ryan May 17, 1927—December 29, 2009 Born May 17, 1927 in Kansas City Missouri. Maggie was the eldest daughter of J.C. and Josephine Ryan, sister Kathy (O'Fallon) and brother James ""Barrett"". Maggie graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder, with a degree in Education. She married David Milek of Omaha in Dec. 1948. They ultimately settled in Denver with their four children. Peggy, Karen (Gerhard Kuhn), Kathleen (Mark Finley) and John (Lynn). Devoted Grandmother to Laura (Jesse Sycuro), and Matthew (Sarah) Kuhn, Ryan, Rachel, and Eric Finley, Christian, James, Shane Milek, and Elise (Jay Schlipman) and Great-Grandmother to Breanna Sycuro. Maggie's life extended well beyond her family, serving numerous charities such as the Anchor Center for Blind Children, and as a Board member with the Colorado Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She enjoyed playing bridge with several groups, outings with her Delta Gamma sisters, participating in a weekly Bible Study and book club, and lovingly served several church ministries. Maggie was hospitalized Dec. 21 at which time she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The family honored her wishes, and on Christmas Day she was moved to hospice. On Dec. 29th, the day following Dave and Maggie's 61st anniversary, Maggie entered eternal life peacefully with several family members at her side. Maggie was a warm and caring woman, willing to do anything for anyone. Though saddened by her passing, we are grateful for the life and love she shared with all. We sincerely thank you for your outpouring of love for Maggie and your kind support of all of us. Please share you condolences on this website.
