Margaret Ann ""Peggy"" Mills

Peggy Mills, 75 years old, passed away on April 7, 2019.

Peggy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is leaving a legacy of generosity and love for her family and friends.

She was born, February 7, 1944, in Gary, Indiana to Claude and Maxine Newer.

She was an only child and was raised in Miller Beach (a small part of Gary, Indiana) on the shores of Lake Michigan. She loved the beach, the dunes, and an active life there. She graduated from William A. Wirt High School, and there she met the love of her life, Dick Mills. She attended Ball State Teachers College and completed the Two-Year Degree for Secretarial Science. Dick and Peggy were married in 1964.

Peggy's favorite job, out of many, was a stay-at-home mom, raising two wonderful daughters. Her greatest enjoyments were the fun times with her family, her four grandchildren, and times at their Frisco, CO townhouse.

Peggy enjoyed most outdoor activities, especially in the Colorado Mountains. Dick and Peggy traveled throughout the world, and Peggy was on six continents and all fifty states. They moved ten times, and over the years her passions were art classes, crafts, needlework, sewing, and scrapbooking. She was an active member in the various churches they attended, many committees, Newcomers, and PEO.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dick Mills; daughter Debbie Doner, son-in-law Mark, and grandchildren, Ryan and Kacey; daughter Pam Casner, son-in-law Herb, and grandchildren, Amanda and Drew; and two cousins.

Peggy's memorial service will be held on Friday April 26th 10:00 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church. The church address is 5101 South Dayton Street, Greenwood Village at the corner of Belleview Avenue and Dayton Street. A reception will follow the memorial service.
