Margaret (Peggy) Blanche Prescott, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at Morningstar at Ridgegate in Lone Tree, Colorado. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Margaret DeMoss, as well as her husband, Tom Prescott and first husband, Michael Zakroff.
Peggy was a graduate of Flint Central High School in Flint, Michigan, and earned a Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University. After interning in Detroit, she moved to Colorado and began her career as a medical technologist. Peggy worked at several hospitals in the Denver area, including Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO and the VA Hospital in Denver where she retired.
Peggy was a hockey mom for many years and enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home. She loved music and was an accomplished cellist throughout high school. Peggy was also an avid reader of the Denver newspapers and a fan of Colorado sports teams.
Peggy moved to Morningstar at Ridgegate in 2022 where she was well-loved by her friends and the greater Morningstar community.
Peggy is survived by her son Alex Zakroff (Kim) in Superior, CO as well as brothers Philip DeMoss (Cindy) and Mark DeMoss, and grandsons Aaron, Avery, and Zane Zakroff. She is also survived by niece Jean DeMoss and nephew Andrew DeMoss. The family plans to have a private celebration of life to honor Peggy.
