Margaret Rau

Our beloved friend, Margaret Rau, went to her Eternal Rest on July 20, 2022. Margaret was known to her friends as “Polly.” Polly was born in Denver, Colorado in 1926. She enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1948 as a flight nurse; by the time of her retirement, she attained the rank of Major. Polly continued her nursing activities after retiring from the Air Force as a volunteer for St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Polly was also an active member at St. Therese Catholic Church and Queen of Peace Catholic Church both in Aurora, Colorado. Polly enjoyed going to the dog races and the horse races for pleasure. She also enjoyed her many barbecues and holiday gatherings with her good friends, the Hogan family of Aurora, Colorado. Polly is survived by her cousin Erlene Westbrook of Denver, Colorado.

Both a visitation and funeral services will take place at Horan and McConaty located at 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue in Aurora beginning at ten-thirty in the morning on August 11, 2022. Burial will take place directly following the funeral services at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
