Margaret âMaggieâ Staley, 94, Lone Tree, Colorado, passed away 1-20-19, after a brief illness. She was born in Billings, Montana, 7-5-1924 to Stephen Harmon and Mary âMarieâ Harmon. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Forest Vincent Staley of 72 years and her brother Howard Harmon. She is survived in death by her son Stephen Staley, daughter in law Sandra Staley, grandson Wade (Jackie) Staley, grandson Grant (Julie) Staley, great-granddaughters Kinley and Kenna Staley.
What a life well lived! Imagine Maggie growing up in rural Montana in the 1920âs and 1930âs, then experiencing World War II after which she found the love of her life, Vince, coming back from the war! They then settled in St. Louis, had their only child, Steve, and had a wondrous 1950âs, 1960âs and 1970âs with her being a stay at home Mom with some part-time school administration work and 17 years as a Candy Striper at Childrenâs Hospital. She was a giver all her life but never more so after Vince suffered a massive stroke in 1982. She then cared for him and her aged Mother in the 1980âs alongside Stephen, Sandra, Wade, and Grant in her new home in Colorado-what a woman! Maggie enjoyed her family and Friends (so so many Friends) until her death. Maggie was/is our Superhero! May we stand on her shoulders in conducting our lives!!
A private service will be held for Maggie sometime in February, 2019. She will be interred at Fort Logan Military Cemetery alongside her beloved Vince and near their beloved relatives Robert Staley and Helen Staley. Donations may be sent to Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org in Maggies honor.
