Margaret Ellison Thornton was born in Anderson, South Carolina, on August 22, 1939. She departed this life on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the age of 82 in Littleton, Colorado.
Margaret is survived by her husband, John Thornton and their four children: Dee Wild, Lynne Bennett, Matt Thornton, and Marlene Parker, two sisters: Sue Owen and Frances Harper, 4 grandchildren: Aaron, Kristen, Matt, and Terry, 1 great grandchild, Ayden and standard poodle fur child, Adele.
The color Purple is a mixture of the serene blue hues, the energy of a red hues, and together forming it into elegant combination. That is what Margaret was, a lively personality that was supportive to her family, friends, and community. Her favorite color happened to be purple, and she did that representation justice. Her charismatic personality was magnetic! Margaret's infectious laugh and beautiful smile brightened the hearts of those around her. Furthermore, she also enjoyed cooking, butterflies, standard poodles, and flowers. There was not a meal, pet, or person that was not provided with love on her part. Above all, Margaret loved giving and spending time with loved ones. Margaret represents so many virtues to so many people with her generosity, creativity, spirit, charm, and kind nature, and will be remembered as such.
Funeral Service will be Friday, January 7, 2022, 10:00am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, Private interment will be held at Littleton Cemetery.
Margaret has impacted so many lives in the 82 years on this planet and a has charities that she donated to. Any memorial contributions would be appreciated and donated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and Freedom Service Dogs of America.
