Margaret Jane Bellino Troisi was born July 13th, 1933 and passed away April 6, 2020. Growing up in the post Great Depression era, she was born and grew up in the small town of Fleming, Kansas. She was one of three children, with a brother Jack Bellino and sister Pat Bellino. Her family lived in a four-room house with an outside well and outhouse. The town in Fleming had one corner business section with a gas station, school and a Catholic Church. Her family moved to Pittsburg, Kansas where she completed grades 2nd through 9th and then later moved to Walsenburg, Colorado where she graduated high school. Her first job was a soda clerk, serving soft drinks, starting at $0.25 per hour.
She received her Bachelor degree from Colorado State College of Education, now University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She married Sal Troisi in June 1955 and moved to Limestone Maine and had her first child, Tricia Troisi (Mackell).
Moving back to her hometown Colorado, Margaret taught high school science in Pueblo and had her second child, Stephen Troisi. She moved back to Greeley to complete her Masters degree, teach first grade in Frederick and have her third child, Silvio (Jim) Troisi. In 1963, she moved to the Walnut Hills area of Centennial, Colorado where she had her fourth child, Margaret Ann Troisi (McClure) and taught elementary education for the Cherry Creek School District for the next 30 years at both Belleview and Heritage Elementary Schools. She enjoyed taking her students on field trips to multiple places in the Denver area, Mesa Verde, Santa Fe, and Taos.
In retirement, Margaret volunteered at Heritage Elementary School and Walnut Hills Elementary School. An avid traveler, she visited all 50 U.S. states, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba, Tahiti, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada and Europe. Margaret lived in the Walnut Hills area for over fifty years, was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and lived her final years in the Someren Glen community.
In addition to her four children, Margaret has seven grand-children (Michael Brent, Megan Bond, Erik MacKell, Madison Troisi, Emily Troisi, Sean McClure and Colin McClure) and three great-grandchildren (Sierra Brent, Walker Bond and Scarlet Bond).
When reflecting on her life, she said, ""The best things in my life were my wonderful children, grand-children and great-grandchildren... and retirement."" She loved to travel, play bridge, complete crossword puzzles, watch Millionaire and Jeopardy and spend time with her friends and family.
Services to honor Margaret's life will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial and St. Mary's Cemetery in Walsenburg, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, her family is requesting donations be made to The Walnut Hills Scholarship Fund: https://www.walnuthillscolorado.org/dues-scholarship/
