Margie M. Duff, 97, of Denver, passed away on November 28, 2023. Margie was born in Pass Christian, Mississippi, on August 5, 1928. She married Howard J. Duff from Brooklyn, New York in 1950 and they embarked on a great adventure as Howard’s military assignments took them and their family to Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, England and throughout the US. They settled in Aurora, Colorado in 1978 and eventually shared over 58 years together.
She was a remarkable woman, who always managed to juggle the needs of family and friends, officer’s spouse “duties” and frequent relocation while maintaining a healthy, wonderful, and loving home. She enjoyed experiencing new cultures and what they had to offer: local traditions, cuisine, theater, and music to name a few.
Margie was a devout Roman Catholic and an active member of Queen of Peace Parish in Aurora, Colorado since 1978. She took her religion to heart as she was always concerned with the welfare of others and would go out of her way to make sure everyone was okay and had what they needed. She always had kind things to say about others.
A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children, Patrick, Maureen, Kevin, Gary, Lisa, and Christopher; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in honor of Margie to Disabled American Veterans. The link to donate is below.
Please consider sharing a memory or leaving a message of condolence to the family in the guestbook as well.
A Funeral Mass will be said for Margie on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, she will be interred next to her loving husband Howard the following day in Fort Logan National Cemetery.
