Marguerite C. O'Day Marguerite C. O'Day, Music Supervisor. Marguerite passed away on July 6, 2007, six days after her 96th birthday. She was a very special person and an exceptional musician. She was born in Lafayette to Anna Schweiger and Michael O'Day. Marguerite graduated from Lafayette High School, and received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Colorado, and her Master's Degree from the University of Denver. She was choir director and organist in the Catholic Church of Lafayette for ten years. After teaching music in Lafayette, Frederick, and Denver, Marguerite became supervisor of Elementary Music Education in the Denver Public Schools in 1946 and retired in 1975. In 1995, Marguerite received the Hall of Fame award from the Colorado Music Educator's Association. Marguerite belonged to the following organizations: Delta Kappa Gamma Educator's Organization, Mu Phi Epsilon Music Organization, Retired Education Administrator's Organization, Assistance League of Denver Samaritan House Guild, PEO, Central City Guild, and Member of Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church in Broomfield. She is survived by one niece Mary Anne Turula, her children, Amy and David, two cousins Maxine Spruce and Patricia Hartley, and many relatives and friends. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents and brother David, special cousins Mary Catherine (Kay) Beynon Brown, Ben Schweiger, and close friend Martha Hull.
