Mari Lynch

May 13, 1938 — May 22, 2022

Castle Rock, Colorado

Mari Lee Lynch was born in Carthage, New York on May 13, 1938 to Marion and Leland Redmond. She was the second of four sisters, and was raised in Natural Bridge, New York.

She graduated Carthage High School in June, 1955 and completed studies at the Watertown School of Business the next year. She married Albert F. Lynch on December 8, 1958 in Natural Bridge, New York. Her husband was career U.S. Army and during one posting, they lived in France and Germany. She worked many jobs over the lifetime of her career, as a legal secretary with a law firm in Watertown, NY; as a secretary in New York City; in title insurance in Denver, CO; and many other positions in office management.

In January, 1975, when Albert retired from the military, they moved from Northern New York to Denver, Colorado, where they joined her younger sister Lynda and her family who had already re-located to Denver, bringing along her youngest sister Nancy and her sons, with her mother joining them in June.

Although Mari Lee and Albert did not have children of their own, they were very involved with their nieces and nephews, and then the great-nieces and great-nephews. At one point, she ran a “family daycare” with four of her great-nieces.

Mari Lee and Albert loved to travel. Early on, they traveled to Nova Scotia, Canada with her mother. She and Albert had a time-share in Mazatlán, Mexico they went to regularly. They took many trips (flying and driving), including 3 cruises: Mexican Baja, Caribbean, and Hawaii. She accompanied her friend with cancer to Greece and stayed with her as she got cancer therapy. That was a significant time she gave to support someone who needed her. In their later years, Santa Fe, New Mexico became a favorite getaway. They thoroughly enjoyed their adventures and often traveled with family members. Mari Lee was a very social person and enjoyed talking with everyone she met.

One of her favorite hobbies was creating hand-crafted items by knitting and crocheting. Over the years, she made all types of items, from mittens and hats, to scarves, afghans and baby blankets for family and especially in later years for donations to cancer patients and children.

She leaves behind her younger sister, Lynda and husband David, 13 nieces and nephews, 30 grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and 29 great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews (soon to be 30). She was pre-deceased by her husband Albert, her parents Marion and Leland, her oldest sister Sally and husband Bill, her youngest sister Nancy, and her nephew RJ.

A private committal will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
