Maria Margarita Sanchez Merino

On Saturday, August 17th, 2019, Maria Margarita Merino, loving wife and mother of five, passed away at the age of 39. Maria was born October 16, 1979 in Denver, Colorado to Julia and Gustavo Merino.

She spent nineteen happy years alongside her husband Rogelio Sanchez. In the nineteen years they spent together they built a home, family, and life. Maria spent her life working various jobs and then dedicated her life to her husband and children at home. As a devoted mother she fought so her children never went without.

Almost 2 years ago, she began her battle with stomach cancer. Through the chemo therapies and difficulties this journey gave her, she managed to keep a smile through it all.

She will mostly be missed for her ability to make the room smile, her love, and cooking. She was an outspoken strong fighter her loved ones will never forget.

Maria was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Merino. She is survived by her husband Rogelio Sanchez; her five children, Lucy, Papi, Cochi, Bo, and Abby; her dad Gustavo; her brothers Juan, Paul, Gustavo, Jose; and nieces and nephews.

A Viewing and Rosary will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel (9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado) beginning at 5:00pm. Funeral Mass is pn Friday, August 23, 2019, 10:30am at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish (11385 Grant Drive, Northglenn, Colorado) with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.
