Maria Francisca Ortega

The beautiful Maria Francisca Ortega, 67, lived in Denver, CO. She peacefully entered glory on Monday, March 3, 2014 in the presence of all five of her children and many other family members. Maria was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 17, 1946. She came to the United States 43 years ago in 1970. Maria was married to Alfonso Ortega on March 23, 1998. They were married for almost 16 years. She was a hard-worker and a single-parent for most of her children's lives at home. She was known for her wittiness and great sense of humor. She loved listening to music; especially 'Rancheras;' taking long drives to the mountains, going to yard sales with her children and spending quiet time in her rose garden. She was also known for her resiliency despite many of life's trials and the fact that she had come to a country without much family support. She was an overcomer and even became a U.S. Citizen, learning English and U.S. History. She worked in the custodial industry and became a supervisor overseeing others. She was very passionate and loved her family dearly. Maria has left strong roots and a legacy here in Colorado as she is survived and missed by her spouse Alfonso; her five children Rolando (Henry), Efren (Frank), Yolanda, Flor Estela, and Maria Elena; her grandchildren Amber, Juan, Gino, Juvencio, Trent, Brianna, Jordan, Taylor, Amanda, Gabriel, Jakeob, Santino, Rachel, Francisco, Santos, Mia, Daniel, Brandi, Jacqueline and Jovanny; her great grandchildren Juan, Ariana, ShelbyLynn, Jayden, Dante, Aalyiah, Ethan, Giano, and Kyri along with many other family members and dear friends. The family of Maria Francisca Ortega wishes to thank all family and friends for their constant love, prayers, and support. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. The interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Mt.
