Marian Waibel Jones

Marian Waibel Jones, 88, of Littleton passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Brookdale Littleton surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 25, 1929 she was the daughter of Frederic and Hattie (Meylan) Waibel. Marian married Don E. Jones on Nov. 1, 1952 and together they shared 44 years of marriage. Don passed away in 1996. Marian graduated from Mercy Central School of Nursing in 1950 as a Registered Nurse. She was an Operating room nurse in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1953. She held several positions as a surgical nurse and also worked in geriatrics during her career. She enjoyed golf, bridge, shopping, the occasional trip to Blackhawk and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (K.C.) Leniger (Kurt), sister Jane Fowler and six grandchildren: Jeffrey Leniger (Cyrena), Jana Franzen (Adam), Justin Leniger, Joshua Jones (Sara), Eric Jones and Kevin Jones, and six great grandchildren: Judah, Luke, Caleb, Ariella, Quinn and Cooper. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Mark Cameron Jones, sister Louise Waibel and brother Freddie Waibel. A memorial service will be held on June 25 at 10:00AM at Columbine United Church, 6375 S Platte Canyon Rd, Littleton, CO 80123, followed by burial with Military Honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:30PM Staging Area B. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the Alzheimer's Association.
