Mariann Brewer

July 21, 1937 — December 9, 2022

Mariann Kelly Brewer was born July 21st, 1937 in Omaha, NE and hasn’t taken a day off since. Among her many jobs, she worked at Denver Dry, drove a Mapleton school bus, drove for RTD, and most recently worked at the Denver Mart. The years she spent working for Continental Airlines were particularly important to her—in her job interview, she said she wanted to give her children a chance to travel.

Mariann was a devout world traveler and never met a stranger. She was active with her travel group, Silver Threads, Silver Sneakers, her Bunco club, and Aquanautics at Thornton Rec Center.  The day before she passed, she attended a Christmas party with her friends at TOPS, and even won the raffle. She adored musical theater, Frank Sinatra, and Diet Coke.

Mariann was an active and devoted member of her church of over 60 years, Immaculate Heart of Mary in Northglenn, CO. She volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at church and at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, and ministered to homebound friends and acquaintances. She volunteered at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Stewardship Center & Food Bank, and was an advocate for senior citizens.

Mariann went home to our Lord and Savior on December 9th, 2022, at the age of 85. She spent her last moments in her home, just as she wished. She loved Christmas traditions and would love to know we are all together with her at Christmas time.

She is survived by three siblings, Daniel Kelly (Skeater), Eileen Dailey, and Irene Kirby; five children, Denise Ortiz (Levi), Daniel Brewer, Donna Johnson (Eric), David Brewer, Deann Vicory (Jerry); seven grandchildren, Jason Ortiz (Robin), Leslie Cuoco (Jonny), Ashley Ortiz (Trevor), Sarah Vicory, Adam Vicory (Katie), Corey Ortiz (Melody), Robert Johnson (Dina); and nine great grandchildren, Ian, Jay, Phoenix, Cannon, Caleb, Mia, Hudson, Lochlan, and Atlas.

Mariann was preceded in death by brother Jim Kelly, sister Patricia Miles, and countless friends.
