Marie Aguilar

Marie Eleanor Aguilar, 86 of Lakewood, Colorado passed away on April 6, 2021. Born on March 8, 1935 in Midway, Colorado, she was the daughter of Lillian Sandoval and Erminio Martinez. Marie married Epimenio Aguilar Jr. on February 7, 1952 in Sopris, Colorado. They shared 18 years of marriage until his passing in 1970. Marie was an accountant and worked for several companies until her retirement from EG&G at Rocky Flats in 1997. She enjoyed local and international travel, reading, sewing, cooking, being in the mountains and spending time with family and friends.

Marie is survived by her children: Roberta (Juan Maravilla), MaryEllen Rosalie (Ted Flores), Rochelle (Bill Benavides), Ronald Aguilar (Betty Rueda), Rhea (Tyrone Abeyta) and (including spouses) 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and a brother (Viola Mestas, Mary Hinshaw, MaryAnn Torres and Abe Martinez) numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Due to Covid restrictions, memorial services will take place later in the summer. Charitable donations in Marie's name may be made to the American Lung Association.
