Marie E. Doherty

Marie E. Doherty, December 7, 1933-February 7, 2017 Marie E. Doherty (Hurley) of Back Bay, Boston, daughter of the late Arthur F. Hurley and late Esther V. Hurley, sister to Arthur F. Hurley and the late Daniel B. Hurley, cousin to the late Mary Howard, loving Mom to Jennifer M. Doherty, William J. Doherty, and Julie P. Doherty-Kowalski and husband Michael Kowalski, and grandmother to Katherine (Katy) Doherty, Megan (Bella) Doherty, and Erin Kowalski, passed away on February 7, 2017 at the age of 83. Marie grew up in Dedham, MA and graduated from Boston College with degrees in teaching. She worked as an elementary school teacher, a legal secretary at Ropes & Gray, and business owner of property in the Back Bay of Boston. She lived life to the fullest in her home in Back Bay, Boston and most recently in Denver, Colorado. She especially enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren, summers in Wells, Maine, and Christmas in Pagosa, Colorado. Her beautiful sense of style, contagious laugh, delicious meals, and strong friendships will be missed. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 11:30 am-1:30 pm at the Top of the Hub in the Prudential Center on 800 Boylston Street, Boston, to overlook the city that our Mom loved so much.
