Marie T. Fitzgibbons

Marie T. Fitzgibbons, 90, of Oak Lawn and Willowbrook died peacefully on July 15, 2016. She was born in Chicago to her loving parents, Albert and Mary Catherine Daly on February 6, 1926. She is survived by her sister Margaret Gregory (Tom) and was preceded in death by her brother, John Daly. In 1950, she married her adoring husband Laurence Fitzgibbons, who passed away in 2000. Marie attended Maria High School and attended the University of Chicago. She was a loving and dedicated wife and stay-at-home mother. She had three children, one of whom preceded her in death (John Fitzgibbons). Surviving children are her son, Lance Fitzgibbons (Sue) and daughter, Kyle Jay (Jim). Marie was the proud and adoring grandmother to 4 grandchildren, Heather Sweeney (Pat), Lee Fitzgibbons, Marissa Fitzgibbons and Brandon Jay. She was also blessed with 5 great grandchildren, Shane Brandlin, Skylar Brandlin, Lucas Brandlin, Sydney Brandlin and Declan Sweeney. Marie's life was enriched by her devoted caretakers, Heather Sanders and Abigail Vongpanthy. Marie's life will be honored on Friday, July 22nd. Visitation to be held at Sullivan's Funeral Home, located at 60 South Grant St, Hinsdale, IL from 3pm to 8pm. (630-323-0275; www.sullivanfuneralhomehinsdale.com). Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 5005 S. Wolf Rd, Western Springs. Entombment will follow immediately at Queen of Heaven cemetery.
