Marie Ann Mackenzie

Marie Ann Mackenzie ~ age 74 of Foxfield, Colorado went to be with God on November 24, 2010. She was preceded in death by her son Jamie Mackenzie and parents Isabel and Clyde Saylor. Marie is survived by Jim, her loving husband of 53 years; son Gregg (Sandie) Mackenzie of Ft. Lupton, Colorado; daughters Margy (Joe) Spivey of Franklin, Tennessee and Betsy (Kirk) Thode of Centennial, Colorado; daughter-in-law Jami Mackenzie; grandchildren A.J. Mackenzie, Colten and Hunter Spivey, and Kaley and Nicholas Thode; sister Jeanne (Paul) Rahter; and many nieces and nephews. Marie was a County Commissioner in Arapahoe County for eight years; a member of the Arapahoe County Water and Wastewater Authority Board (ACWWA); a nurse; a real estate agent; and by far, her most important roles were as a wife, mother and grandmother. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 29, 2010, 3:30 p.m., at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block to the west of Holly Street), in Centennial, Colorado. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 10:15 a.m., at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church, 34201 County Road 33, in Kiowa, Colorado. A private burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheatridge, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, donations are being suggested in Marie's memory to the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org/donate.
