Marilyn Ann Criley (McKibbin) October 12th, 1937 - October 13th, 2017 passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 13th, 2017. She was born in Denver, CO on October 12th, 1937 to Frank James and Elna Louise McKibbin. A second generation native Coloradoan, she grew up in North Denver, the youngest of two siblings, and graduated from North High School in 1955. Her father died when she was nine years old. After high school she went to work as a telephone operator at Mountain Bell to help support her family. She was raised attending Highlands Lutheran Church in Denver, and it was here that she met her future husband Paul. Marilyn and Paul were married in 1961 and they remained married until his death earlier this year. Marilyn and Paul raised four children and lived the majority of their life together in Westminster, Colorado. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Once her youngest child entered elementary school, Marilyn solved her empty nest syndrome by taking a job as a school bus driver for Adams County District 50 schools. It was a job she enjoyed immensely. She worked for District 50 for 20 years before retiring in 1998. Marilyn enjoyed golfing and crafts, but mostly enjoyed working in the service of others. She was active in the Highlands Lutheran Church choir and volunteered her time to help the church’s senior population. After retirement she enjoyed taking road trips with Paul in their RV. They traveled from Alaska to the East Coast. Her favorite activity in retirement was spending time with her four grandchildren which included hundreds of soccer, baseball and football games. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother and for her kindness and generosity. She will be missed by her four grandchildren who she adored and who in return adored her. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, Frank and Elna; and her brother, Donald. She is survived by her children, Sherri an her husband Ben of Chugiak, Alaska, Scott and his wife Stacy of Castle Pines, CO, Ann Marie her husband Keith of Broomfield, CO, and James Lance and his partner Paul of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Matilda, Sadie, Kevin and Megan.
