Marilyn Ann Lawless was born to Dorothy and Karl Kuhn in Nevada, MO in 1922. She grew up with her brother Bob in Nevada where she graduated valedictorian of her high school. She met her high school sweetheart, Harold, in Nevada where they played in music recitals together. They married in Nevada in 1945 when Harold returned from serving in WWII. Marilyn attended Cottey College in Nevada and then graduated from Pittsburgh State Teachers College in Kansas in 1947. When Harold graduated from Georgia Tech they moved from Atlanta to Aurora, CO to raise their family. From 1948 through 1956 Marilyn and Harold had four sons, Mike, Dave, Steve and Dan. Marilyn continued with her talents in music playing piano and signing in church and worked as a substitute and music teacher in the Aurora and Cherry Creek school districts. She raised her family in Aurora until 1968 when the family moved to Rapid City for Harold's work. They returned to Aurora in 1975 and lived there to the present day. She was devoted to her family and ran the household as so many wives did in the 50's and 60's. Marilyn is survived by her sons Dan, Steve and his wife Jane and their children Emma and Ben, her son Dave and his wife Kathy. Mike passed away in 2007 and Harold in 2012. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a private ceremony. She was an intelligent, talented, kind, gentle and loving person, a caring mother and wife and we will miss her terribly. We love you Mom â you blessed our lives.
