October 10, 1949 — February 17, 2012

Marilyn Rice Sexton ""Mama Fish"", ""Buzzard"", passed away February 17, 2012 at 12:23pm due to health complications she had been battling for years. She was born on October 10, 1949 in Oakland, California. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Amy Sexton-Gilbert; her granchildren, Aaron Rice Simmons, Amanda Koger and Ashlynn Koger; and her brothers, Kenneth Sexton and James Sexton. Marilyn was raised in Hawaii. She loved to play sports and remained very physically fit throughout her childhood and into her adulthood. She was an AVID Denver Bronco fan, watching every game and supporting them through their successes and failures. When she was working, her primary area of employment was managing fast food restaurants such as Dairy Queen, Arby's, A&W, and many others. She loved her crew members as though they were a little family to her. In April 2003, Marilyn adopted Brooke (Brookey), a 16lb Persian/Himalayan/Siamese cat, whom she became very attached to. Marilyn and Brooke were 2 peas in a pod, keeping each other company for many years. Brookey was put to sleep in December of 2010 due to health complications. Marilyn missed her ""Brookey"" so very much. We love and miss you, Marilyn(Mommy)! A celebration of her life will be held at 12 Noon on Sunday, February 26, 2012, Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 7757 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. Reception to follow service.
