Marilyn Soisson

1929 — January 1, 2022

Lakewood, Colorado

Marilyn "Posie" Stenger Soisson, 92, of Lakewood, Colorado, died at her home January 22, 2022, after a short illness.

Born in Lancaster, Ohio December 3, 1929 to Dr. and Mrs. Leo E Stenger, she attended Marymount College In New York and graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in hospital dietetics.

On July 11, 1953 Marilyn married Navy pilot Thomas J. Soisson. They lived in Rhode Island, Maryland, Ohio, and then in Colorado where Tom was stationed at NORAD.  Marilyn was primarily a housewife with 5 children, but later was the office manager of the venetian blind/awning business they bought after Tom's retirement from the Navy in 1966 in Colorado Springs. They later sold the business and moved to Texas, then Michigan, eventually settling in the Denver area.

Marilyn was an avid golfer and member of a ladies' golf group until she stopped playing last fall at the age of 91! She was a wonderful example to all who were privileged to know her; living and enjoying life to the fullest, with many friends, many interests, staying active, and spending time with her family.

A devoted Traditional Roman Catholic, she was very active in her church. She especially enjoyed working in the church bookstore.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her son, T. Jeffrey Soisson, MD in 1993;  her beloved husband, Thomas J. Soisson, Navy Cdr (retired) in 2012 and older brother, Thomas Stenger, DDS.  She is survived by her brother William Stenger of Scottsdale, Arizona; her daughters: Lynn King and husband Boyd of Abilene, Texas; Ellen Glover of Lakewood, Colo; Judy Kaltenbacher and husband Kris of Colorado Springs; Dianne Warns and husband Mike of Lakewood, Colorado; her former daughter-in-law Bernadette Clancy and husband Tom of Romeo, Michigan; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.
