Denver

Marilyn J. Turner, 81, died on April 10, 2023, in Aurora, Colorado.

Marilyn was born on May 22, 1941, in Denver, Colorado. She lived most of her life in Colorado, growing up in Denver, raising her children in Arvada, and retiring in Aurora. She married her husband Dell in Denver on June 16th, 1963.

Marilyn worked for the Jefferson County, Arvada, and Aurora court systems. She also held various positions in banking and retired as a personal banker.

While raising her daughters, she started a home daycare business that served working parents who needed a safe and healthy environment for their children. She worked closely with government agencies to establish standards for home daycare to ensure proper care was provided.

Marilyn was very active in her church, particularly in the areas of music and children’s ministries. Her love of music began at the tender age of 3 and continued throughout her life. Her strong relationship with her Lord and Savior also began at a young age and continued throughout her journey here on earth and her journey to her eternal home. She was bold in her faith and shared it with everyone she knew.

Marilyn also had a love for all animals, especially the dogs she considered part of her life-long family.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Dell of Aurora, her daughters Wendy and Leslie of Castle Rock, her grandchildren Lauren, Brendan, Evan, Katelyn, and Cameron, and her great-grandchildren Eloise and Juniper. She was preceded in death by her parents Victor Glenn Vaughan and Leila Vaughan, and her granddaughter Alyssa.

A graveside service will be held for the immediate family. She will be buried at Fort Logan Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO 80236.
