Marjorie Bjorklund

Marjorie Schwankl Bjorklund, 59 of Highlands Ranch died July 22, 2021 following a two year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born June 16, 1962 in Aberdeen, Maryland to Elmer and Carol Schwankl.

Margie made Colorado her home since 1993. She worked at Ceridian for 19 years and recently at Antero Resources as an HRIS Project Manager.

She attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, majoring in Piano Performance. She was an accomplished pianist and violinist and had played violin in the Arapahoe Philharmonic Orchestra for enjoyment. Aside from her musical talents she was also an expert quilter and gifted knitter, working part time at Colorful Yarns where she was known for her patience and knowledge assisting customers with knitting questions or problems.

She was an animal lover and enjoyed gardening. She will be missed dearly by family, friends, and co-workers.

She is survived by her parents Elmer and Carol of Lakeville, Minnesota; brother Mark (Erika) of Winter Park, Colorado; and sister Karen (Mark); nephew Brandon; and niece Zoe Aldridge of Burnsville, Minnesota.

A Memorial Service will be held for Margie on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 1:00 - 2:00pm in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. A reception will take place immediately following the service.
